The 1248 Langton Association

The 1248 Old Langtonian Association

Welcome to the 1248 Old Langtonian Association

The Langton has a long tradition of success and a reputation for producing well-rounded, successful young men and women.

By joining the 1248 OLA you will be able to stay connected with fellow alumni, receiving updates on significant personal and school achievements, as well as important announcements from the school. Perhaps the greatest strength of the 1248 OLA is the opportunity it offers for networking.  This is invaluable to Langtonians facing the daunting prospect of entering the job market; opportunities exist to develop links for work experience or internships and to access advice, borne out of experience, from Langtonians working in areas of interest to you. These issues may seem a long way off at this point but they will be upon you before you realise. The LA will provide a platform for you to stay in touch with school friends and organise occasions for you to meet up and relive the happy memories you are about to make.

You will also be notified of upcoming activities taking place at the school all of which you are welcome to support and attend. Some examples include:

  • music concerts such as the Christmas Carol Service enabling the many Langton musicians to continue to make music together
  • Langtonian sporting events, for example in football, golf, hockey, rugby and cricket
  • A wide range of social events including a formal dinner here at the school.

In the current climate of funding cuts, there is mounting pressure on schools to make savings, which frequently affects provision particularly in the arts, music, drama and sport. The 1248 OLA endeavour to support the school to ensure Langton teachers continue to deliver over and above all expectations. We want you to have available the same educational opportunities Langtonians have experienced since the school began.

Ultimately, this is an opportunity to stay part of the Langton Community for life and keep a common connection forever more. The 1248 Old Langtonian Association exists for you, please get involved and enjoy it.

Support the Next Generation of Langton Students

At The Langton, we are proud of the achievements of our alumni and the invaluable support of our parent community. We believe that your experiences, expertise and insights can play a significant role in inspiring and guiding our current students as they prepare for their future careers and educational journeys.

We are seeking support from alumni, parents and members of our wider school community who would be willing to contribute in one or more of the following ways:

  • Share your career journey by speaking to students about your profession, offering practical advice, inspiration and guidance on entering and succeeding within your chosen field.
  • Provide university and higher education insights by discussing the courses you studied, student life experiences and the pathways that led to your career.
  • Offer work shadowing or work experience opportunities to help students gain valuable first-hand exposure to the world of work.
  • Support our Year 10 Mock Interview Programme, helping students develop their confidence, communication skills and interview techniques in preparation for future applications and employment opportunities.

Your contribution, however large or small, can have a lasting impact on a young person’s aspirations, confidence and future success.

If you would be interested in supporting The Langton in any of these ways, please complete the form attached to register your interest. 1248 Langton Association Engagement – Fill out form. A member of our team will then be in touch to discuss potential opportunities and how your involvement could best benefit our students.

Thank you for your continued support of The Langton and for helping to inspire the next generation of Langtonians.
