Langton Boys PTFA

About us

Langton Boys Parents, Teachers, Friends Association (PTFA) welcomes parents, carers, ex-students and members of the community with a wish to support our school.

The PTFA is a registered charity (ref 810298) and we raise funds to enhance students’ learning and development, and to provide opportunities to meet socially.

We now have our own website and more info can be found here.

Goals
  • Encourage good communication and relationships between parents/carers, school, and students
  • Support the school in providing an excellent education to all students
  • Assist the school in its fundraising activities
  • Enhance the students’ experience during their time at the school.
Activities and Events
  • Christmas Raffle – the biggest fundraiser
  • Triva Night – an evening of fun and quizzing
  • Assist at school’s Christmas Lunch
  • Provide refreshments at school concerts, drama productions and events.
  • Provide refreshments at SportsFest as part of the welcome to new year 7 students.
Expenditure

The PTFA has subsidised purchases for picnic benches across the school, outings and equipment for students to use in the various school departments.

We fund resources and activities which provide enrichment and further development opportunities beyond the standard provision of the national curriculum.

We also have funds set aside for the school pool refurbishment – ready for when it is needed.

Membership

We would like to make best use of skills and resources that we undoubtedly have in the parent community – you are all automatically members of the PTFA.

We are a friendly bunch with children of different stages in their Langton adventure.  The PTFA provides a rewarding insight into the achievements and opportunities enjoyed by the students.

We help each other in the daunting journey that can be secondary school.

Your are warmly invited to attend any of our meetings and events.  These are advertised in the school’s Friday email and on the parents Facebook page.

There are a variety of ways you can get involved, from engaging with social media activity, attending meetings or volunteering or help coordinating events.  Other ways to get involved include donating preloved items, raffle prizes or suggesting ideas for improvement.

There seems to be a myth that if you get involved you will never be able to escape!  Come to our meetings to just listen and learn, or take a more active role – it is up to you.

We hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM), usually in April, the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary positions are up for renewal then.
