The Langton reading challenge is devised for all pupils from Yr7 until the end of Yr11, or until they have read their 16 selected books. The aim is to subtly prepare students for higher demands of their English GCSE and to have them read books in their formative years that reflect the rich diversity of the society we live in.
Students transitioning from Yr6 to the Langton are encouraged to start this challenge as a summer reading challenge.
To participate, students need to log their finished books and have the log signed by their parents or guardian as well as write a short review of each book. Each read, reviewed and signed for book is awarded an effort merit by their English teacher or the Langton Librarian. All selected titles are lendable from the school Library.
Once students have read 16 titles, their name will be entered into a prize draw to win a book voucher.
